Please let me know ASAP if you will be able to attend.
Thanks,
Rick Wallace
Scoutmaster, Troop 219
We will be hosting the Pinewood Derby Saturday, February 2nd. As usual, we will need approximately 12-15 scouts to help out with track set-up, registration/weigh-in, pit crew, starting gate and time keepers. I certainly need some of the older, experienced scouts to attend, but also encourage the new, younger scouts to attend this event. This is a great opportunity to show our scout spirit by serving Cub Scout Pack 219. The event is at our church, so be there about 10am for set-up. The Cub Scouts usually sell hot dogs, so bring a few bucks if you want to eat there.
Please let me know ASAP if you will be able to attend. Thanks, Rick Wallace Scoutmaster, Troop 219

The Cape Alava Hike is scheduled for Feb 15-18. You can find the permission slip for this hike on the Cape Alava Page on this website. The deadline for signing up for the hike is Monday, February 4th. Ken Spurrell will need all permission slips and payments at the Monday February 4th meeting.
Please reply to Ken Spurrell at [email protected] if you will be attending the Hike. He needs to get an idea of how many scouts will be attending the hike. Please let Ken Spurrell know if you will be attending the committee meeting on Monday (Jan 28th) and if you will be able to drive. He will also need to know how many seat belts you have in the vehicle. He will need to make sure we have enough seats for the scouts attending the flag retirement ceremony. Again, we will be meeting at the church at 5:15 pm on Monday.
Hello Scouts and Parents,
Had a great weekend camping at Alder Lake Campground. Day trip to Paradise, beautiful sunny day, pretty cold nights!! A couple of quick announcements for coming events: 1/14/13, Parent Meeting at 6pm, Court of Honor at 7pm. Scouts being recognized for Rank Advancement are Guy, Arices, Alex Cook, Michael Finch, Westley, Daniel MacDonald, Jesse, Aaron Rosner, Joshua Spuck and Jake Spurrell. 1/21/13: No troop meeting. 1/26/13: Tentative Pinewood Derby. Discussion of changing the date, awaiting confirmation, but most likely date moved to early February. 1/27/13: Urban Grace Service Project. There are seven scout spots available, so please respond to Rhonda Patrick at [email protected] ASAP if you want to participate. 1/28/13: We will be conducting our Committee Meeting and Troop Meeting at Camp Kilworth. I'd like to meet at the church between 5:15 and 5:30 so we can get there by 6:15. We will most likely need some drivers, but I'd like the committee members to provide as much transportation as possible. As we have several flags in need of retirement, our troop meeting will be several Flag Retirement Ceremonies at Camp Kilworth from 7-8 pm. Scouts, be sure to wear your uniform and scarf to participate in the ceremonies. Parents are welcome to drive scouts and attend the retirement ceremony. 2/15-2/18: Cape Alava Hike. This is a three day hike from Lake Ozette-Cape Alava-Sand Point-Lake Ozette. The troop will hike three miles each day. This is a great beginner hike, as the hike has a very slight elevation change. Ken Spurrell will be getting a permission slip and adult support needs out soon. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Rick Wallace Scoutmaster Troop 219 Snow camp is coming up on the weekend of Jan 11-13. Because of the Holidays, we only have one meeting before the campout. We will need all permission slips and payments turned in at the Jan 7th meeting. You can find more information on the Snow Camp Web Page here.
